Jared Conway is a Senior Nuclear and Mechanical Engineer at Blue Energy, where he leads design and engineering initiatives across the entire plant including the nuclear steam supply system, radioactive waste system, power conversion system, and the security infrastructure. A distinguished MIT graduate with a degree in Nuclear Science and Engineering and a minor in Computer Science, Jared earned the prestigious Roy Axford Award for academic excellence in the nuclear department. His technical expertise is complemented by rigorous training and operational experience in the US Navy’s Nuclear program.
Prior to joining Blue Energy in September 2024, Jared served with distinction as a submarine officer aboard the USS Pennsylvania (SSBN 735) Blue Crew, where he held multiple critical roles including Main Propulsion Assistant, Damage Control Assistant, Assistant Engineer, and Quality Assurance Officer. His exceptional leadership and technical proficiency earned him two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and recognition as Junior Officer of the Year in 2023. Jared also contributed to his vessel’s attainment of the Battle “E” and Weapons “W” awards in 2022, recognizing excellence in warfighting, ship navigation, and weapons handling—experience that now informs his innovative and decisive approach to nuclear energy development in the civilian sector.
Jared lives in Edinburgh, Scotland where he works with the Scotland-based engineering team for Blue Energy. His favorite hobbies are cooking intricate meals with his wife, reading a book and drinking coffee on the porch in the morning, or going on long, challenging hikes.
