Prior to joining Blue Energy, David worked for over 5 years at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission where he served as a Reliability and Risk Analyst and Technical Reviewer in the in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. His primary responsibilities included the review of risk-informed licensing applications and supporting the development and implementation of guidance related to the use of probabilistic risk assessment and associated analyses in regulatory decisionmaking.
David previously worked for 10 years at Sargent & Lundy, L.L.C., most recently as a Senior Project Engineer in the Nuclear Technology and Regulations Group. He served as a licensing specialist, qualified 50.59 reviewer, and subject matter expert for projects associated with the treatment of multiple spurious operations and risk-informed applications at U.S. nuclear power plants, including for small modular reactors.
David received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois.
