Carl Moore is an accomplished nuclear professional with over three decades of experience in nuclear power plant operations, engineering, license examinations / training, and regulatory compliance. Carl holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Iowa and was a licensed Senior Reactor Operator on both the Braidwood and Barakah nuclear power plants.
Throughout Carl’s career, he’s led critical teams at major nuclear facilities, including the Braidwood, Barakah, and South Texas Project Nuclear Power Plants. He managed main control room operations at both Braidwood and Barakah where he was responsible for all aspects of safe plant operation. Carl has also served with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, contributing to international accident response following the Fukushima accident and overseeing operator licensing examinations and exam development projects.
Known for effective leadership, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to nuclear safety, Carl has managed multilingual, multicultural diverse teams, executed complex plant evolutions during the initial power ascension testing at Barakah, and driven continuous improvement in nuclear power plant operations.
Outside of work Carl enjoys exercising, baseball, traveling and spending time with his family.
